Telefónica and Starlink Partner to Improve Digital Connectivity for Businesses Worldwide

Starlink operates a constellation of satellites in low-Earth orbit that provide high-speed, low-latency broadband Internet connectivity globally.

Telefónica, through its global business unit Telefónica Global Solutions (TGS), has entered into a worldwide partnership with Starlink, a subsidiary of SpaceX led by Elon Musk.

Starlink operates a constellation of satellites in low-Earth orbit that provide high-speed, low-latency broadband Internet connectivity globally, including in rural and remote areas. Through this agreement, Telefónica Global Solutions will be able to expand its current offering by incorporating Starlink’s enterprise solutions into its global portfolio.

Starlink launched its enterprise solutions in early 2023, designed specifically for this type of customer and distributed through authorised partners such as Telefónica Global Solutions. These solutions enable high-speed, low-latency internet access, even in adverse weather conditions, with download speeds of up to 300-350 Mbps. They also offer special terminals for in-vehicle use and data services for businesses.

The operation is initially being rolled out in Mexico and will gradually expand to other countries, such as Peru, Colombia, Chile, Brazil, and Spain. Julio Beamonte, CEO of Telefónica Global Solutions, highlighted the collaboration with Starlink as an opportunity to offer next-generation solutions to customers, complementing the expertise in value-added satellite solutions that the company has provided for years.
