AI From Europe

Adesso and Aleph Alpha are expanding their cooperation for AI projects in the German economy and administration.

Companies and authorities in Europe want to take advantage of generative AI, but are faced with the challenge that well-known solutions such as ChatGPT or Bard come from US providers and do not meet local data protection standards.
With Luminous, Heidelberg-based Aleph Alpha offers an alternative that does not transfer data abroad and works transparently. In its third financing round, the AI start-up raised more than 500 million US dollars at the beginning of November 2023 to drive forward the development and marketing of trustworthy generative AI.

Projects with Aleph Alpha

IT service provider adesso is a partner of German AI specialist Aleph Alpha. The companies are now intensifying their collaboration. Adesso is expanding its ten-strong team with specific expertise on Luminous. The team will be supported by over 100 AI specialists from adesso’s various divisions.
adesso is currently implementing ten projects based on Aleph Alpha technology. The IT service provider has incorporated the experience gained into a framework and prototype model that will make it much easier to introduce generative AI in future projects. This will enable companies and public authorities to integrate Luminous into their applications and processes more quickly in order to support employees in their day-to-day work and speed up workflows.

Chatbot based on Luminous

Münzing, a manufacturer of specialty additives for the chemical industry based in Abstatt, Germany, shows that the use of Aleph Alpha technology has already arrived in German industry. “As a family business, we are building a customized intelligence chatbot based on Luminous together with adesso. This has already shown how, fed with our extensive knowledge, it will help us to answer technical questions and solve various problems in the future,” says Managing Partner Dr. Michael Münzing.
“We are seeing rapidly growing demand for generative AI that meets the highest standards in terms of security and data protection,” says Benedikt Bonnmann, Head of the Data and Analytics division at adesso. “As a strategic partner, we exchange ideas intensively with Aleph Alpha and use the findings for projects. In these, we score points above all with a quick and thorough evaluation and assessment of the feasibility and benefits of all use cases. This enables companies and authorities to make decisions quickly and start the implementation phase together with us.”
