Fortinet Reinforces Workplace Security with a New AI-Powered Suite

Fortinet launches FortiMail Workspace Security and updates FortiDLP to protect email, collaboration, and critical data from internal and external threats.

In a context of increasingly sophisticated and automated threats, Fortinet (NASDAQ: FTNT) has unveiled its new FortiMail Workspace Security suite, along with powerful updates to FortiDLP, as part of its strategy to protect the modern workplace from external and internal risks. This new solution, powered by artificial intelligence, provides comprehensive coverage of email, browsers and collaboration tools, while strengthening data leak prevention and user behaviour visibility.

With these innovations, Fortinet is moving toward unified protection tailored to hybrid environments, providing an enhanced security experience for organisations that increasingly rely on collaborative cloud environments and SaaS platforms such as Microsoft 365, Google Workspace and Slack.

FortiMail Workspace Security: beyond email

Thanks to the integration of technologies from Perception Point — recently acquired and recognised by Gartner as a Visionary in the 2024 Magic Quadrant™ for email security — Fortinet has made FortiMail the most customisable email protection platform on the market. It now covers incoming, outgoing and internal emails, with deployment options including appliances, virtual machines, SaaS and hosted services, as well as versatile operating modes (gateway, server, ICES and hybrid).

The new Workspace Security suite extends this protection to the web browser and collaboration tools, detecting malware, malicious links and evasive attacks distributed through chats and shared files. It also offers a 24/7 managed response service that helps to quickly contain incidents and reduces the burden on cybersecurity teams.

FortiDLP: intelligent data loss prevention

Enhancements to FortiDLP strengthen defences against the loss of confidential information. With new features such as data lineage tracking, high-risk behaviour detection and automatic correlation of user actions, FortiDLP provides security teams with a comprehensive understanding of the lifecycle of critical data.

These capabilities enable the monitoring and prevention of misuse of sensitive information, such as intellectual property or personal data, whether on authorised platforms or when detecting risky activities with GenAI tools and unapproved cloud services.

‘In today’s changing threat landscape, protecting user productivity and sensitive data requires a unified strategy that takes into account both external threats and internal risks,’ said Nirav Shah, Senior Vice President of Products and Solutions at Fortinet. “Cybercriminals are targeting users directly and increasingly leveraging tools such as FraudGPT, BlackmailerV3, and ElevenLabs to automate the creation of malware, deepfake videos, phishing websites, and synthetic voices, making attacks more scalable, convincing, and difficult to detect. With our expanded FortiMail Workspace Security suite powered by AI and FortiDLP solutions, Fortinet empowers organisations to stay ahead of threat actors and internal risks, while ensuring that users, data and productivity remain secure.”

Holistic security for today’s workplace

The convergence of networking and security is key to Fortinet’s approach. This new suite is part of a comprehensive and proactive protection strategy that prioritises both business performance and threat resilience. In a working world defined by mobility, digital collaboration and intensive use of AI, Fortinet offers a security infrastructure that not just reacts but also anticipates and mitigates risks with intelligence and precision.

With FortiMail Workspace Security and FortiDLP, Fortinet takes a new step in its commitment to simplifying security in an increasingly complex world.
