Transfer Centre for Cyber Security in SMEs

Transfer Office for Cyber Security in SMEs

Project aims to support SMEs, craft enterprises and start-ups free of charge and in a practical manner in the prevention, detection and response to cyber attacks.

The long-term goal of the project is to strengthen the cyber resilience of companies through preventive measures. For this purpose, contact is proactively established with the companies on site and knowledge is imparted via events such as Web Impulse or orientation talks. Workshops and train-the-trainer formats are also intended to successively promote action competence in the area of cyber security in companies. A network of 30 regional contact points, which will be established in the coming months, will carry the contents and offers of the project into the regions nationwide.

Assistance and referral to qualified IT service providers

In addition, the sub-areas of detection and response are also to be covered in the future. With this in mind, an innovative platform is currently being created that bundles information, assistance and offers on the topic of cyber security. Companies that have been the victim of a cyber security incident can be quickly and accurately referred to regional support services and qualified IT service providers via this platform.

Mittelstand BVMW is the consortium leader of the project and works in close cooperation with the specialist partners FZI Forschungszentrum Informatik in Karlsruhe, Leibniz Universität Hannover – Institute for Vocational Education and Adult Education, and tti Technologietransfer und Innovationsförderung Magdeburg. In order to ensure a smooth transition to the services offered by the Transfer Office for IT Security in SMEs (TISiM), the new Transfer Centre for Cyber Security continues to develop selected services and expands them according to need. The project is supported by various partners, such as Deutschland sicher im Netz e.V. (Germany Secure on the Net).

The Mittelstand-Digital Netzwerk offers now comprehensive support for digitisation with the SME Digital Centres, the Initiative IT-Sicherheit in der Wirtschaft and Digital. Small and medium-sized enterprises benefit from concrete practical examples and tailored, provider-neutral offers for qualification and IT security. The Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Protection enables free use and provides financial subsidies.
